About President and Owner
Jocelyn Coverdale


Jocelyn Coverdale specializes in helping busy professionals develop information management strategies, improve their business processes, master their schedules, projects and tasks, and implement effective workflow in their offices.

With 20+ years experience in education and training, Jocelyn has developed successful methods of both experiential- and action-based learning for professionals who want to grow and become more effective at what they do.  She completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Delaware.
 
Following 10 years of successful teaching in public schools, she transitioned to higher education administration at the University of Delaware, responsible for organizing and managing the offices of senior administrators, oversight of the records management program, and research support to the University’s president and governing board.

In 1994, bitten by the technology bug, Jocelyn launched her own company as a top-level IBM-certified trainer and consultant in Lotus software, traveling the country to run workshops and in-depth technical seminars for both end users and high-level technical specialists in Lotus Notes application development and Domino system administration.

As an IBM Lotus business partner and consultant, she helped companies such as PECO Energy, Campbell Soup Company, CoreStates Bank, Hay Group Management Consultants,
Wilmington Trust Company and DAP Adhesives design information and workflow systems to streamline their business processes and improve productivity.

In 2002, pursuing her professional passion for systems and combining it with her finely-honed teaching and organizing skills, Jocelyn expanded her consulting business to include productivity training and office organizing services. She teaches a variety of  workshops in productivity improvement, and works closely with clients to select the productivity tools that are right for them.

Jocelyn is an active member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) where she has served as chair of course development for the association's educational and professional development program.

She recently completed requirements for a certificate of study in chronic disorganization through The National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization, and is frequently an invited speaker for local, regional and national professional groups.

She is also an active member of ARMA International, the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, the PA-NJ-DE Distance Learning Association (PADLA), and the Women’s Business Network of Delaware. She is a member  and serves on  the board of Wilmington Women in Business.

"One of My Gurus" -- Jocelyn has studied with internationally acclaimed productivity expert David Allen (pictured together here at the 2005 ASTD Conference, Las Vegas, NV). David is the author of Getting Things Done:  The Art of Stress Free Productivity, a core element of Ballantrae Solutions' consulting and training  paradigm, and Ready for Anything: 52 Productivity Principles for Work & Life.San Diego, CA 2005.  Pictured here (second white jacket from the left) with colleagues from the Greater Phila Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), Jocelyn  was an invited panelist for the "Ask the Organizer" Session at the 2005 NAPO conference, a panel attended by more than 300 of the conference attendees.


         

   Ballantrae Solutions' marketing approach is modeled after Michael Port's Book Yourself Solid coaching paradigm. I've been very impressed with and deeply affected by Michael's business philosophy since training with him in Boston in March of 2006, especially his heart-felt belief that marketing is all about  "standing in the service of others."  I whole-heartedly agree! and continue as  Michael's student in business development.

It was my pleasure to meet with him again face-to-face following the release of his best seller Book Yourself Solid  when he spoke at our NAPO Greater Philadelphia Chapter meeting in September 2006 ( pictured here).
