The Client wanted to improve personal productivity and workflow across the board, not just in one department or process area, so Ballantrae Solutions proposed a continuing series of in-house workshops teaching the GO (Get Organized!) System. A four-hour workshop for 10-20 participants, The GO System is a well-researched program which introduces traditional material about getting organized, but also includes other important factors not ordinarily associated with organizational skills, such as psychology and sociology. GO delivers a return on investment precisely because it looks at the entire individual and the whole organizational picture.
Ballantrae Solutions met with the Client’s training coordinators to review needs and expectations, and to tailor the workshops accordingly. The resulting program focused on six key causes of workplace disorganization, and provided strategies for addressing each one.
Along with the GO System training, participants received a take-away GO Implementation Kit allowing them to put the GO System to work immediately, and follow-up tips and resources to reinforce the workshop content. The GO Kit includes: individual self-assessments; a workbook with step-by-step implementation instructions; an at-a-glance “action system” reminder for key workflow decisions; a supply of essential forms and folder tabs; and a CD with additional resources. We added a copy of Chris Crouch’s excellent book, Getting Organized, to the kit.
Ballantrae Solutions has been regularly presenting GO System workshops for the Client’s employees since spring 2005 and is currently developing a web-based version of the workshop which will allow employees at satellite offices to learn the system. |
